Republican presidential candidate former President Donald Trump was on Saturday rushed off the stage after a shooting which claims a life during his
campaign in Butler, Pennsylvania
The suspected shooter and at least one rally attendee were killed while two others were injured during the rally.
Reacting to the incident Trump who also sustained injury in his left ear said
“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA”
He thanked the United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting and extend condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and the injured ones.
” It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. “
President Joe Biden while reacting to the unfortunate incident said said he is grateful former President Donald Trump is safe after the shooting
Biden who said, “There’s no place in America for this kind of violence. it is sickening and that he hoped to speak with Trump soon.
Trump and Biden are locked in a close election rematch, with most opinion polls showing the two evenly matched. Trump is due to officially receive the Republican nomination at the Republican National Convention that kicks off in Milwaukee on Monday
