Gunmen Kill Another University Lecturer in Benue

Few days after a lecturer of  was gruesomely murdered in Ilaro Ogun state, Karl Kwaghger An Associate Professor with University of Agriculture Makurdi (UAM was on Saturday  evening killed by gunmen in Makurdi, Benue state capital.

Kwaghger, who was a lecturer in Mechanical Engineering Department of UAM, celebrated his birthday 3days before he was attacked

He graduated from the same university and was offered employment where he rose to the rank of Associate Professor.

It was gathered that he was ambushed  by his assailants who stabbed him severally around 9:30 pm at opposite IBB square in Makurdi.

A private security guard within vicinity of the incident told The Nation he was on routine patrol and found the man in his pool of blood on the ground crying for help.

The security guard said he contacted his boss on the phone, who immediately called B. Division police station but the victim died shortly before help came his way.

The killers made away with his Avenza vehicles and phones.

The chairman, University of Agriculture, Makurdi branch of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, Ameh Ejembi confirmed the death of the lecturer.

The university’s head, Information, Protocol, and Public Relations unit, Rosemary Waku also said the university authorities are also aware of the death of its staff but were yet to get the full details of the circumstances.

The spokesperson of the police command in Benue state, Catherine Anne, confirmed the associate professor of mechanical engineering, was found in a pool of his blood at the premises of the Tarka foundation.

The police, thereafter took the core to the hospital for an autopsy while investigations are on the incident.
