“As one of the groups organizing the forthcoming #End Bad Governance protest, #DaysOfRage starting from August 1st to 10th, 2024; we at the Take it Back Movement (TIB), write to your esteemed office, to notify you of our decision to use the Eagles Square as a point of convergence for patriotic Nigerians to demand for better governance,” the letter read.
The group has also requested that the FCT Minister ensure the provision of essential amenities, such as 24-hour power supply, toilet facilities, water, and security, to cater to the needs of the protesters who will be camping at the square.
Additionally, the activists have asked for the removal of the outer wire mesh barrier facing the Aso Rock Villa, as the protesters may decide to visit the Presidential Villa during the protest.
“In short, we ask that the protesters are accorded the courtesy accorded to foreign and local official dignitaries who have frequently used the space,” the letter further stated.
The Take it Back Movement expressed hope that the request will be granted expeditiously, as they prepare for the nationwide demonstration against the state of governance in the country.
