The Oyo State Governor Engineer Oluseyi Makinde has said that his future political plans solely depend on God’s will.
Engineer Makinde while speaking at the birthday party organized for him by friends and associates in Saki said his movements in life have always been determined by God, wherever he directs I go and 2023 would not be exceptional.
He urges people calling on him to re-contest 2023 to seek God’s intervention through prayer and always pray that God’s will should prevail on the people of Oyo state.
“In 2018, myself and a clergy man went to pray and as we lay on the altar I told him, don’t pray for anything than God’s will for my life and the people of the state and my electoral victory in 2019 was nothing but God’swill so the future political move depends solely on him.
While reiterating his commitments to the development of Oyo state, Governor Makinde who turned 53 said presently infrastructural development and provision of basic amenities are ongoing in all the regions of the state.
“Part of my campiagn promises was to shift the seat of power from Ibadan to other zones on quarterly basis for at least a week or 10 days so anybody that wishes to transact business or take government contracts will come to wherever we go, this will avail us the opportunity to monitor what is going on and at the same time boost the economy of the area.
The Head of Service Mrs Agboola in her remark described Governor Makinde as a man with unprecedented passion for the civil servants and pensioners in the state that is duly appreciated.
‘Apart from the regular payment of our salaries on or before 25th of every month, the governor has also been taking care of the retirees with regular payment of gratuity and pensions.’
“She said further that ‘ the State Civil servants have been enjoying consistent training and retraining of staff which for sure will boost their knowledge and give room to aquire more skills and we are going to reciprocate this gesture by ensuring increase in productivity and generate imore income for the state .
Some of the guests who spoke with our reporter include: Hon Akinwole Akinwale, (Wolekanle) and Hon Akeem Ademola Ige. They both described governor Makinde as inimitable personalty whose love for the state is beyond ordinary.
” Today we are celebrating a man with great passion for the state and I joined the rest of the world to wish him the best of everything in life and pray that God should give him more strength to suceed in the goodnworks he has started and do more for the state, said Wolekanle.
Highlight of the event includes a long Tennis match which featured the governor and the speaker of the House of Assembly, Hon Debo Ogundoyin, and others.
