Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has categorically denied rumours of his defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC), reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The clarification comes in response to widespread speculation across political circles and social media platforms suggesting that the governor had plans to dump the PDP for the APC.
In a statement released on Saturday through his spokesperson, Mallam Olawale Rasheed, Governor Adeleke described the reports as false and misleading, urging the people of Osun State to disregard what he called “fake news.”
“I assure the good people of Osun that I remain part and parcel of the PDP family. I am not defecting to any party,” the governor was quoted as saying.
Governor Adeleke emphasized that his current focus remains the full implementation of his administration’s five-point development agenda, which he said is already yielding visible results across sectors. He reiterated his commitment to delivering more democratic dividends and ensuring inclusive governance for the benefit of all Osun residents.
The governor also reassured party members, supporters, and the general public of his continued leadership within the PDP, both at the state and national levels.
The statement concluded with a call for calm and vigilance against political misinformation and propaganda aimed at creating confusion in the state.
