Eminent personalities from all walks of life including the Governor of Zamfara state, Bello Matawale, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, Special Adviser to the Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige were among the people that were honoured with the Oodua Special recognition awards tagged “OSRA 2020” on Saturday 17th October, 2020.
The awardees which also included Hon. Victor Omobolaji, the Akingbayi Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland and coordinator of Oodua Progressive Congress (OPU) in Europe, were chosen from both within and outside Nigeria converged at Ile-Ife, Osun State to receive their awards.
The Oodua Special recognition awards is a ceremony put together to encourage personalities whose meritorious service are worthy of recognition. They were selected after a background check had been conducted on their credibility and impact they had made in the society.
Speaking at the ceremony, the President Oodua Special recognition awards 2020 who is also the publisher, international events of lifestyle magazine that organized the award, Adeleke Gbenga Emmanuel explained that Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige was chosen as one of the awardees for this unique award based on his antecedents in the area of humanitarian service in the society, excellence performance, worthy character and philanthropic act.
He said that the award would serve as motivation for him and others to continue to do more for the society wherever they find themselves and for other well meaning individuals to emulate them.
Speaking at the event which also coincided with his 46 years birthday, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan ogunwusi congratulated all the recipients for being considered lucky for the awards which he said is significant and unique in Yorubaland, and urged them to continue to be a good ambassador of the Yorubas through their deeds and actions anywhere in the world.
Hon. Ademola Akeem Ige who is also the Baameto Aare Ona Kakanfo of Yorubaland said that he attached much important to the said award that is why he personally came to receive it and especially to honour the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi on his birthday.
He used the occasion to felicitate with the Ooni of Ife on his 46 birthday and another illustrious son of Ibadan, Engr Chief Dotun Sanusi, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Ilaji hotels and sports resort who also celebrated his 52nd birthday on the same day.
While appreciating the organizer for the recognition given to him to receive the Oodua Special recognition awards, Hon. Ademola Ige, thereafter, dedicated the award to the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde for his excellent performance in all aspects of governance among the 36 state governors in Nigeria.
