Adamawa state Governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Thursday commissioned a Recycling hub in Yola.
The factory located at Sangere Bode along Numan Road is the first of its kind in the state.
Senior Special Assistant New Media to the Governor , Muhammad B. Tukur in a statement said the factory will turn plastic waste into creating green job opportunities for youths in the state.
Governor Umaru Fintiri while speaking thanked the development organisations for actualising the project.
He said his administration will continue to provide an enabling environment for business to flourish.
Earlier the Country Director of Tearfund, Mr Joseph Aloo thanked Governor Fintiri for his support in actualising the first phase of the project, calling for partnership with the government for environmental sustainability
The State Commissioner of Environment and Natural Resources, Mohammed Sadiq described the launch of the project as timely as the world is faced with pollution and other menace affecting the environment.
The factory was built by Tearfund and Yola Renewal Foundation with the support of Norwegian Agency Development Cooperation (NORAD) and the Adamawa State Government
