Aeroport College of Aviation and Management has announced plans to mark its 10th anniversary and 8th convocation ceremony, scheduled to hold from December 9 to 15, 2024, at No. 1 Bilkaminu Akinsanya Street, Off Ajao Estate, NNPC, Ejigbo, Lagos State. Themed “From Dreams to Wings: Celebrating the Journey for a Global Sky,” the milestone event will feature prominent speakers, awards, and cultural festivities.

The week-long celebration kicks off on December 9 with a charity walk focused on tourism along designated routes in Lagos. On December 10, the institution will visit the SOS Children’s Village as part of its corporate social responsibility efforts. December 11 will feature an African Cultural Day to showcase Nigeria’s rich heritage, while a novelty football match between aviation colleges across Nigeria is set for December 12.

The main convocation ceremony and anniversary celebration will take place on December 13. Highlights include the induction of new members into the Institute of Tourism Professionals of Nigeria (ITPN), an awards presentation, and a keynote address by Mr. Nkereuwem Onung, President of the Federation of Tourism Associations of Nigeria (FTAN).

Other notable speakers include Mrs. Toke Benson-Awoyinka, Lagos State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, and Captain Damilola Ajina, Chief Pilot of Green Africa Airlines.

To appreciate its staff, Aeroport will host a retreat and awards ceremony recognizing their contributions over the past decade. The celebration will conclude on December 15 with a Thanksgiving service.

Dr. Oludayo Taiwo Gideon, CEO of Aeroport Group, expressed excitement about the events, describing them as a testament to the institution’s commitment to excellence in aviation education. “Our commitment to providing world-class aviation education has earned us a reputation as one of Nigeria’s leading aviation colleges,” he said.

Similarly, Mr. Akinkunmi Awotundun, Head of Faculty at Aeroport, highlighted the institution’s impact on the aviation sector over the years. “We have produced hundreds of graduates who have excelled in the aviation industry both locally and internationally,” he noted.

Aeroport College of Aviation and Management, renowned for its programs in aviation management and flight dispatch, invites alumni, students, and industry stakeholders to join in celebrating this remarkable milestone.
