The Osun State Sector Command of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has commended the Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, mni, for initiating the distribution of branded bottles of table water to motorists as part of safety measures under the 2025 Operation Zero Tolerance to Road Traffic Crashes Special Patrols.
The commendation was given in Osogbo after the Osun Command received 66 packs of the branded table water from the FRSC National Headquarters.
Speaking on the initiative, the Sector Commander, Corps Commander Leye Adegboyega, fsi, described the gesture as a proactive safety intervention aimed at reducing road traffic crashes during the end-of-year festivities.
According to him, the water distribution is one of several strategies deployed by the Corps to combat fatigue-related crashes and promote alertness among motorists during the special patrols, which commenced on Monday, December 15, 2025.
Adegboyega explained that the water would be distributed free of charge to motorists plying major road corridors within the command’s area of jurisdiction, in the spirit of the Yuletide season. He added that the exercise would also provide an opportunity for FRSC personnel to engage road users in safety talks, a core tool of the Corps in promoting safety consciousness among the motoring public.
The Sector Commander noted that the initiative is not exclusive to Osun State, as similar distributions are ongoing across all FRSC commands nationwide, further demonstrating the Corps Marshal’s commitment to achieving the FRSC mandate of safer roads across the country.
He urged motorists to be law-abiding, avoid distracted driving, and adopt safe road use practices to ensure safe travels and arrivals during and beyond the festive period
