In line with the FRSC 2024 Cooperate Strategic Goal to accomplish a 5% reduction in Road Traffic Deaths and Injuries; extension, the frequent Road Traffic Crashes (RTC) experienced majorly at Oolo bridge and Masifa village; the Command carried out a road safety Palliative Work on Wednesday along Oolo – Ogbomoso road.
The Palliative Work was engineered by the Ag. Unit Commander, CRC Femi Adeyemo as a primary modality to minimize RTC and traffic congestion along the route; involving the two major identified bad portions of the road which had incessantly caused RTC overtime.
According to the Unit commander, the deployed staff for the Palliative Work alongside the Ag. Unit Commander gathered Hardcores from the abandoned site of RCC (Construction Company) which is about 24 km from the base. The Hardcores were thereafter used to fill the identified critical bad portions that were affected due to frequent downpours of rain until Compaction was achieved.
Meanwhile, during the Palliative Work, oncoming vehicles were halted as a measure to ensure the safety of the staff; the vehicles were thereafter allowed to continue with their movement after the filling process.
“The Command is further committed to regularly deployed operatives to the route for traffic calming/control to activate the alertness of heavy-duty drivers/road users.” He concluded
