FRSC Oolo Returns Crash Victim’s Money To Relative

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC on Tuesday, 22nd of April returned the sum of Forty Thousand Naira Only (40,000 Naira) belonging to a crashed victim (deceased), Mr. Oseni Mohammed, who was involved in a road traffic crash with an heavy duty Vehicle (Trailer, registration number PKM526XA) at Asani village, along Oolo – Oyo road, at about 02:30AM on Thursday, 17th of April 2025.

The fatal crash as described by FRSC occured on Thursday, 17 April, 2025. It involved Fifteen (15) Male Adults, out of which Ten (10) were injured while Three (3) were killed and deposited at LAUTECH Hospital’s Morgue, Ogbomoso by the Federal Road Safety Corps.

The relative of the deceased, Alhaji A. Ismaila visited FRSC Oolo Command on Tuesday, 22nd of April 2025 and the sum of Forty Thousand Naira Only (40,000 Naira) was handed over to him, a money recovered from the deceased by FRSC during the rescue operations. He appreciated the Command for their proactiveness in rescue activities, and also their sincerity in carrying out their duties.

While interacting with the deceased relative, the Ag. Unit Commander CRC Femi Adeyemo pjsc tendered his heartfelt condolence for the dead victims and prays for the quick recovery of the injured victims.

The rescue Operation for the crashed Trailer which involved the ’15 Male Adults’ took FRSC Seven (7) hours. This was due to the fact that some of the victims were trapped with goods (drums of chemicals) hence, making it difficult to have them easily evacuated below the fallen drums, when the crash occured’ Adeyemo stated.

Femi Adeyemo iterated that ‘Road Traffic Crashes are avoidable, and a crash free environment is possible with compliance to traffic rules and regulations. He further emphasized the aggressive agitation of the Command, RS11.312 Oolo, kicking against overloading of vehicles with goods and passengers.

It would be recalled that the Ag. Unit Commander, Femi Adeyemo recently led the Command’s staff to Ajawa Town for a road safety campaign; an initiative described as an Operational strategy by FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed mni, FCA, FCTA, CPTA.

This further shows the Command’s commitment on road safety advocacy and general safety for transport leaders, youths, market stakeholders and other categories of road users.

Femi Adeyemo who appreciated FRSC Oyo State Sector Commander, CC RUK Alo for her all time support and guidance during various road safety operations in the state, also assured motorists of free flow of traffic along Oyo – Ogbomoso road. ‘The recent road rehabilitation along the road coupled with the line up initiatives of the Command would aid in smoother movement’ he added.

Highlighting Goal 1 of the ‘Corps Corporate Strategic Goal for the year 2025, Adeyemo pointed that, most fatal crashes recorded within the Command’s Jurisdiction were due to common traffic infractions. He thereafter urged drivers to change their attitudes against road safety tips and uphold defensive driving techniques in the course of their interaction with the road.
