FRSC Oolo Collaborates With Oriire LGA Monarchs, Cites ‘Synergy As Key to Safety on Highways

As part of FRSC efforts on road traffic crash reduction on highways, the Acting Unit Commander FRSC Oolo, CRC Femi Adeyemo pjsc had an interactive session with the Traditional Council Members of Oriire LGA, consisting of Monarchs across various communities in the local government area.

Femi Adeyemo described the meeting with the Traditional Council Members as a vital process to enhancing ‘FRSC Corporate Strategic Goal 2’ for the year 2025. He identified the Monarch authority as key stakeholders, towards the advancement of road safety administration and traffic management.

The Command’s routes, across Oyo – Ogbomoso is majorly used by heavy duty vehicles, hence requires ‘strategic road safety approach’ to managing it’s traffic situation. The Command have put in place, ‘Intelligence Transport System, which highlights real time information for traffic monitoring, through the usage of CUG for effective communication in relation to traffic situations, Adeyemo stated.

‘The Command also believes that the Traditional Council Members are among the key stakeholders that can be collaborated with, to ensure safety for road users using Oyo – Ogbomoso road. This necessitates the FRSC team to admonish the Monarchs on the need for collaborative effort, to ensuring Road Traffic Crash reduction in the stated route.

‘Eid-il-Kabir special patrol operation will kick off in due time, with expectation in increment of vehicular movement along Oyo – Ogbomoso road. The Command have been engaging in public enlightenment, road safety awareness campaign and other educative programs to orientate road users in parks, schools, mosques and churches’ Adeyemo stated.

Following FRSC Corps Marshal Shehu Mohammed mni, FCA, FCTA CPTA directive, it is important to continually educate road users on safety matters, hence highlighting Route Violation as one of the major causes of Road Traffic Crashes. When all road safety rules and regulations are complied with, it’s possible to achieve a crash free environment.

Adeyemo in his statement further appreciated FRSC Oyo Sector Commander, CC RUK Alo for her proactiveness towards road traffic crash reduction along Oyo – Ogbomoso road.

The Oriire LGA Traditional Council Monarchs whom in their response appreciated FRSC for their commitment to ensuring the actualization of a crash free environment across the local government area, further disclosed their readiness to synergizing with the Command, especially on road safety and it’s related matters.

It would be recalled that FRSC Oolo have kick started road safety awareness campaign at Ajawa town of Ogooluwa LGA and extensively to Iluju, Oriire LGA. Adeyemo highlighted Community residents, Market leaders, Park Managements System (PMS) members and others as major targets for the awareness campaign.
