Former Chairman, Osun Internal Revenue Service, IGR, Mr. Dayo Oyebamiji has indicated interest in contesting for the candidacy in forthcoming governorship race in the state, under the platform of All Progressives Congress APC.
Oyebamiji made this known when he visited the party secretariat recently in Osogbo to declare his intention.
The aspirant listed the followings; Improvement of agricultural sector, increase activities in the mining sector, improved Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, security of lives and properties of the citizens, industrialization, and improved tourism activities and youth empowerment as part of manifesto.
Oyebamiji served as the chairman of internal revenue service between December 2013 to April 2017. During his tenure, he boosted the internal revenue of the state and currently is the managing partner of a financial and tax advisory firm.
He however, expressed gratitude to the State Governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for the good work he has done in state.
“Aregbesola has obviously worked assiduously to achieve a monumental development in the economy of Osun from appalling situation he met in 2010, the performance has been locally and globally recognized as unprecedented.
“It is therefore, a challenge for successive government to ensure the continuity of this great work and also strive to surpass this record.”
In his remark, the Chairman of the party, Gboyega Famodun while welcoming Oyebamiji, said the number of the aspirants that has come out from the party showed that the party have great chance of winning the election, coming up in September 2018, and promised that the party would provide a level playing ground in the selection of right candidate for the post.
