A former interim chairman of Ogbomoso North Local Government, popularly known as Toskay, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), marking a significant political realignment ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Toskay, a known political ally of former House of Representatives Majority Leader, Alhaja Mulikat Akande Adeola, had previously defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the Social Democratic Party (SDP) before the 2023 elections.
His defection to the APC was formalized during a visit to the party’s secretariat at Apake area of Ogbomoso. The event witnessed a strong turnout of party stakeholders and supporters.
Prominent APC leaders present to receive Toskay and his supporters included the Oyo North Senatorial District Chairman, Hon. Tunde Oloyede; Hon. Jacob Abidoye Bamigboye; Hon. Adedeji Abiodun Adeyemo (Obadoba); Hon. Prince Wasiu Olukan; Hon. Adeleke Adewale; Alhaji Bukola Badmus; Alhaji Rauf Akanji; and Hon. Abass Bello. Party chairmen, secretaries, youth and women leaders from the three local governments in Ogbomoso zone were also in attendance.
The APC Secretary in Ogbomoso, Alabi Tunji, welcomed the decampees, emphasizing that the party is “waxing stronger with a single mandate to reclaim Oyo State from the PDP-led administration.”
