Food Production: Senator Buhari Disburses Farm Equipment, Inputs, Cash To Farmers in Oke Ogun

In his bid to ensure that people at the grassroots enjoy dividends of democracy, Senator Buhari Abdulfatai, lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District at the upper chamber of the National Assembly on monday distributes farming equipment and imputs worths millions of Naira to farmers in Oyo North Senatorial district.

 

Farmers from 13 local government areas that made up the district at the Town Hall, Iganan in Iwajowa local government area of Oyo State received  items meant to enhance their farming businesses and food production.

At the event, over 1000 bags of fertilizers, 1000 Sprayers, 1000 bottles of Weed Crusher Chemical, 1000 bottles of Syngenta Chemical for grasses and weeds clearing for farmers were disbursed.

Each beneficiaries went home with beneficiaries will go home with  bags of fertilizer each,two sprayers,6 herbicides chemicals and Cash support

In his address, Senator Buhari said the gesture is part of his campaign promises and way of appreciating them for giving him theit mandate to reprrsent them at the the Senate for the second term.

Speaking on the mode of selection of the beneficiaries, the All Progressives Congress APC Chieftain said
“They were not selected from political party’s folds alone. I represent everyone in Oyo North and i give to everyone irrespective of their political affiliations.

He added that beneficiaries should make best use of the items to better their livings, that of their families and our nation at large.

Speaking on behalf of Chairman, All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Chief Akin Oke, The Chairman APC, Oyo North, Alhaji Arikewu Abdulrasaq confirmed that Senator Buhari Abdulfatai has been representing the district very well.

Alhaji Arikewu maintained that the lawmaker has done the best for people of Oyo North especially Oke Ogun by pushing for establishment of Federal University of Agriculture and Technology.

He reiterated that Senator Buhari has not disappointed APC and entire of Oyo North Senatorial District.

In his remarks, one of the party leader in Oke Ogun, Alhaji Dauda Oladimeji Wasiu identified Senator Buhari as a good representative whose representation in government should be sustained by people of the district.

He charged farmers in Oyo North to embrace APC so that dividends of democracy can continue to be enjoyed.

Recalled that in the last week of 2020, over 600youths were trained on tiling works while the previous weeks in the last months of the year witnessed training and empowerment of youths on ICT, Tie and Dye, Cosmetology, Barbing and Hairdressing, Modern farming techniques and tools, fish farming and poultry productions.

All these has nothing less than 5000 youths fully trained with appreciatively given startup capital of minimum of 30,000 naira apart from equipment that worth hundreds of thousands of naira given to each of the benefiaries
