Food Production: Saki East LG Boss, Ramat Adeniran Distributes Farm Inputs

As part of efforts geared towards boosting food production and harnessing potential for bumper harvest in Saki East Local Government and Ifeloju LCDA at large, the Chairperson Saki East Local Government Hon Mrs Ramat Mosunmade Adeniran has distributed essential farm inputs to farmers across the council area and Ifeloju LCDA.

The empowerment programme held simultaneously at Saki East Council Secretariat had in attendance large numbers of farmers, political stalwarts,PDP faithfuls, government functionaries among others, was also replicated at Ifeloju LCDA under the auspices of the council Vice Chairman Mr Fatokun Emmanuel.

Items distributed were 500 packaged high breed maize,11 sprayers,200 herbicide chemicals,60 super grow fertilizer chemicals and 50 cutlasses among others.

While speaking at the programme the Chairperson Saki East Local Government Hon. Ramat said the initiative was aimed at supporting the 4 cardinal programmes of the Seyi Makinde led administration.
She emphasized that her administration is determined to provide necessary support for the farmers at the grassroot in order to achieve abundant food production in the state.

Hon. Ramat stated that reports have revealed that the conflict between Russia and Ukraine has led to reduction in food production up to 20 percent in African Countries and as such, the Executive Governor of Oyo State Engineer Seyi Makinde charged her to look inward and expand economy of the state through food production at the grassroot.
She admonished farmers to appreciate the gesture by making use of the distributed items for the purpose meant for.

The council boss also charged the people of the council to collect their PVC in order to exercise their civic responsibilities in the coming elections.
Hon. Ramat further appealed to the people of the council to reciprocate the Governor Seyi Makinde administration through their vote in the 2023 elections.
Educating the farmers, Director of Admin. & Supplies Mr. Abdul-Azeez Alaraje, Director of Agric Alhaji Bashiru S. and Political bigwig Alhaji Abdullahi Najemudeen took turn to explained steps towards achieving bumper harvest with the distributed items.

While speaking on behalf of all the farmers, the chairman All Farmers Association of Nigeria AFAN, Saki East Chapter Mr Jubril Yusuf,Baale Agbe Saki East Chief Adegbiji Ismaila and Iyalode Agbe Mrs Musiliat Ashiru thanked the council chairperson for her kindness and support and promised to use the items received judiciously.

They also assured the state government of their resolve to massively vote for Governor Makinde in the 2023 election. The empowerment programme was designed to commemorate a year in office on the celebration of democracy day.
