Rivers State House of Assembly building was on Sunday evening gutted by fire in Port Harcourt.
The fire which started around 10pm attracted helpless spectators who could merely stand and watch as the inferno razed down the complex.
This is coming amidst rumors of an impending impeachment procedure against the state Governor Sim Fubara.
The complex has been taken over by security agents from the nearby Command of the Rivers Police while a fire truck was also seen on the grounds of the facility.
Details of the cause of fire has remained sketchy as no member was willing to speak on the matter by press time
