The Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria (FIBAN) , Oyo State Chapter will on Sunday, November 7, honour Governor Seyi Makinde with Lifetime Achievement Award for his meritorious service to the state at the grand finale of this year FIBAN week celebration.
According to the statement signed by Amb. Taiwo Oguntoye, the SA media and publicity to Oyo State FIBAN Chairman, Com. Seun Awodele in which FIBAN described the Governor’s support for the professional association as outstanding.
The statement further revealed that Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Atanda Adeyemi will also be decorated with lifetime achievement award alongside the first female Speaker of the State who also doubles as the first female Senator to represent Oyo State at the red chamber, Senator Monsurat Sunmonu.
Comrade Awodele described Governor Makinde as an unprecedented supporter of broadcasters in the state who recalled all sacked freelance broadcasters at the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS); the governor also created a conducive environment for FIBAN members to work at the Atiba FM by the release of about N150 million grant for the take off of the station. He has also donated a brand new bus for the Association among other numerous supports for FIBAN.
The statement however stated that for making the state a better place and for supporting the activities of the current FIBAN executives who just clocked one year in office, the professional body deem it fit to honour Governor Makinde . The Alaafin of Oyo will be honoured for upholding the Yoruba culture and tradition for over five decades on throne while Senator Monsurat Sunmonu will be honoured for being a strong pillar of support for the association at the special event which will take place at mauve 21 Event Centre where the National President of FIBAN, Com. Desmond Nwachukwu is expected to be the chief host among other dignitaries and veteran broadcasters across the Nation. The Bonsue Fuji King, King Adewale Ayuba will be on the band stand to thrill audience at this year FIBAN week grand finale.
