The Vice President, National Association of Nigeria Travel Agencies (NANTA) Otunba Babatunde Adesokan has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to consider Tourism and Aviation Sector as part of his administration top priority in 2024.
Adesokan, who is the VP western zone said this while speaking with journalists during the annual Association’s end of the year party held at Jogor centre
He said. “The traveling industry especially in the past few years, Covid 19, cash trap and others, the industry has been going through a lot of turbulence but with the advent of the new government I believe there is a hope in sight because the current Government have promised the aviation sector that there will be a positive turnaround and we are still hoping for better days.”
The travel expert who commended Aviation’s minister move to ensure harmonious working relationship with all the stakeholders said having Nigeria career and a properly structured aviation sector will reduce expenditure on foreign career as well as serves as another income for the country.
Speaking on his expectation from government in the coming year, Adesokan said “ We are hoping to see a better country , a robust economy and huge investment in travel and tourism sector.
On why they honored some members , Adesokan maintained that “ we decided to honour some of our veterans in this industry to appreciate how they have stabilized the industry before we came on board especially in the zone, we honoured the first woman National President Mrs Ezobi who happens to be our the First National Female President of NANTA for her contributions in the zone, we also honoured one of our own, Mama Lani Travels, one of the key figures in Ibadan and the zone in those days, at the same time we also honoured some young people in the industry like Jibola Ogunkeyede of Ufit Fly, for performing wonderfully well and also for supporting this zone financially, the tradition is just to appreciate our members and at the same time dine and wine with each other
The event was graced by veterans in the travel industry as well as members and their families
