The Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, has announced a week-long schedule of activities for its combined maiden convocation ceremony, during which it will confer fellowship awards on the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON; the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji; and the Chairman/CEO of Spectrum Nigeria Limited, Dr. Abubakar Isa.
The convocation programme, which will feature the award of National Diplomas, prizes and fellowships, is slated for Sunday, February 8 to Friday, February 13, 2026.
According to an official document signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mr. Akin Odesola, and made available to journalists by the Acting Director, Centre for Information, Communication and Public Relations (CICPR), Mr. Sunday Adepoju, the ceremonies will comprise academic, religious and social events across the Polytechnic’s temporary and permanent sites.
Mr. Odesola disclosed that the programme will commence on Sunday, February 8, 2026, with a Church Service at 10:00 a.m. at the TETFund Building, Temporary Site, Federal Polytechnic Ayede, Iresa-Pupa.
On Monday, February 9, a press conference will hold at 11:00 a.m. at the Administrative Building, Permanent Site, and will be addressed by the Rector, Engr. Dr. Taofeek Adekunle Abdul-Hameed.
A Novelty Football Match between teaching and non-teaching staff is scheduled for Tuesday, February 10, at 3:00 p.m. at the Polytechnic Sports Ground, Temporary Site, Iresa-Pupa, Surulere Local Government Area.
The convocation lecture will take place on Wednesday, February 11, at 12 noon at the Permanent Site, Ayede, Ogo Oluwa Local Government Area, Ogbomosoland.
The lecture, titled “The Role of Technology in Implementing Nigeria’s New Tax Laws: Challenges, Prospects, and Implications for National Development,” will be delivered by Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji, with Rt. Hon. Dr. Tajudeen Abbas serving as Chairman of the occasion.
The main convocation ceremony comes up on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Polytechnic’s Permanent Site. Activities for the day include the conferment of fellowship awards on Rt. Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, GCON; Dr. Zacch Adelabu Adedeji; and Dr. Abubakar Isa, as well as the award of National Diplomas and prizes to graduands of the 2023/2024 and 2024/2025 academic sessions.
The week-long programme will be concluded on Friday, February 13, with a Jumat prayer at 1:30 p.m. at the Temporary Site, Iresa-Pupa, Surulere LGA.
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic has directed all graduands to pay a convocation fee of ₦40,000 via the Remita platform by visiting www.remita.net, selecting Pay Federal Government and Federal Polytechnic Ayede School Fees, with narration as Convocation Fee, while providing their name, email address and phone number.
Graduands are to present evidence of payment to collect their academic gowns and two guest invitation cards at their respective school offices between Monday, February 2 and Monday, February 9, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The institution also warned that all academic gowns must be returned on or before Monday, February 17, 2026, noting that a surcharge of ₦1,000 per day will be charged for late submission.
