Facebook Marriages End on Instagram, Says Cleric

A Christian cleric Reverend Emmanuel Olubiyi of assemblies of God church Apata Ibadan has called on the youths not to search for spouses on social media to enjoy their marriages.

Reverend Olubiyi made the call while speaking on the ways of curbing spate of broken homes especially among Christians.

The cleric noted that meeting spouses on the social media would not allow individuals to understand their partners before getting married.
“Facebook marriages end on instagram, if you do not go through proper process of marriage which include seeking the face of God, compliance to wise counsel from the elderly and personal conviction, the marriages would collapse. “The cleric said .

Reverend Olubiyi also identified lack of proper planning as a factor responsible for broken homes.

He urged potential husband and wife to always weigh options of location of residence and nature of jobs before getting hooked.

“If your wife feeds you for a year and the man does not have anything to put on the table, there would be problems ”

The cleric who charged couples to be ready to take responsibility and jettison blame games ,said marriage was for better for worse,hence no Christian should consider divorce as an option.
The Assemblies of God church Reverend also implored couples to learn to say sorry irrespective of the situation.
