The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has reiterated its commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all travellers, staff, and airport users, with a reminder of mandatory security checks across Nigerian airports.
In a statement signed by Mrs. Obiajulu B. Orah, Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, FAAN emphasized that all passengers and luggage must be screened at the entrance of terminal buildings, with access to departure halls restricted to travellers with valid documents.
The agency advised passengers to declare and tag their baggage at check-in desks, while warning that dangerous or prohibited items must not be packed in checked-in or hand luggage.
At security screening points, passengers are required to subject their hand luggage to scanners and remove metallic objects, belts, shoes, and electronic devices when instructed by security officers. FAAN also stressed that boarding passes and ID cards will be verified at boarding gates, while liquids or gels exceeding 100ml will be confiscated.
“Your cooperation ensures a safe, secure, and smooth travel experience,” the statement added.
