Ahead of the 2023 gubernatorial and National Assembly election, residents of Eyin Grammar Community Development Association in Ibadan South East Local Government area of Oyo State have pledged their unflinching support to the re-election of the Oyo State Governor, Engr Seyi Makinde and the senatorial ambition of the PDP candidate for the Oyo South Senatorial district, Mogaji Joseph Olasunkanmi Tegbe.

Speaking on behalf of the residents, the outgone General Chairman of the association, Alhaji Chief Lateef Adegoke said the decision to support Governor Makinde was based on the fact that he has done so much for the benefit of the community in terms of developmental projects which include the renovated and equipped with medical facilities of ALGON Comprehensive Health centre at Ajet Bus stop, rehabilitation of main road from Ibadan Grammar School to Bus Stop – Odo Oba among others.

He added that Mogaji Joseph Tegbe who is the senatorial candidate of the PDP has been doing humanitarian programmes aimed at bringing succour to the masses despite not being in government.

In his remark at the occasion, the Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Culture and Tourism, Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige who represented the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and Mogaji Joseph Tegbe at the event congratulated the outgone chairman and members of his executives on the achievements recorded during their two term tenure to pilot the affairs of the Eyin Grammar Community.

He called on other communities in the State to take a cue from this community by engaging in projects that will benefit their communities so as to complement the efforts of the government.

He charged members of the new executives to sustain the achievements recorded by their predecessors by embarking on projects that will benefit the community just as their predecessors did.

He assured that the Oyo State government will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people in everything it does.

At the event, the new Chairman of the community, Alhaji Mukaila Ajibike who was until his swearing in, a staunch member of the opposition party, APC in Oyo State publicly renounced his membership of APC and declared support for the ruling PDP. He said that he took that decision in view of the fact that Governor Makinde has extended various developmental programmes that are of beneficial to the residents of the Eyin Grammar community and therefore, there is no need to remain in opposition party so as not to be ungrateful for the Governor’s gesture.

Hon. Ademola Ige was accompanied to the programme by Engr Sulaiman Adesina, PDP Chairman in Ibadan South East Local Government and another leader of the party, Alhaji Adeoti.
