The Post Graduate Students of Professor Adekunle Amoo of the Department of Chemistry, Federal University of Technology, Akure, Mogaji Nurudeen Akinade together with Mukhtar Omoniyi has donated laboratory stools and tables to Islamic Day Secondary School, Orita Bashorun, Ibadan.
The duo said the donation was borne out of their love and passion toward the progress of education in Oyo state particularly in the school.
Speaking at the commissioning held on Thursday at the school premises, the duo in their separate remarks stated that government alone can not catered for education, hence, the need for individuals and well meaning Nigeria to contribute their quota.
According to them, the equipments will enhance and enriched the students learning ability particularly in the area of science and engineering.
They said the future of the nation relied on the children, adding that adequate and sound education remained crucial towards the development and progress of a nation.
They however thanked the principal of the school, the Governing Board of the school for their commitment to the upliftment of education in the school.
In his remarks, the Chairman of the Governing Board of the school, Professor Isiaka Adekunle Amoo lauded effort of the donors, saying the equipments will go along way in assisting students in their studies.
He said all achievements and progress of the school was a collective effort of members of the board
He thank former governor Abiola Ajimobi for setting up of School Governing Board describing it as a good initiative which has brought about many developements in schools across the state.
He also thank governor Seyi Makinde for upholding what late Abiola Ajimobi has laid down.
Meanwhile, the outgoing principal of the school, Alhaja Tawakalitu Salami commended the donors, saying their efforts is well appreciated.
She however seek support and collaboration of stakeholders for the incoming principal so that the school will continue to enjoyed unprecedented development.
