
Former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan on sunday paid a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Ayo Adebanjo in Lagos, mourning the passing of the revered Afenifere leader and elder statesman.
Adebanjo died on Friday, February 14, 2025, at his home in Lekki, Lagos.
In his tribute, Jonathan described Chief Adebanjo as a patriot who dedicated his life to the pursuit of justice, equity, and good governance in Nigeria.
He noted that the late leader’s unwavering principles and contributions to the country’s democratic struggles would remain a lasting legacy.
“His death is a loss to our nation, Nigeria, as he was a man of unwavering principles, courage, and dedication to the ideals of justice, equity, and unity. His contributions to the struggle for independence, democracy, and good governance will continue to be remembered,” Jonathan stated.
