A former member of the House of Representatives, for Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa Federal Constituency of Oyo State, Hon. Shina Peller, on Thursday, paid a condolence visit to Yoruba Nation agitator, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as ‘Sunday Igboho’, in Cotonou, Benin Republic over his mother’s demise.

Sunday Igboho’s mother, Mama Sikirat Adeyemo, passed away on Saturday 22 July, 2023.

Iseyin-born lawmaker had during the visit described Mama’s passage as painful, disheartening and monumental loss.

He said, “Mama’s death was very painful. I urged my brother to take solace in the fact that mama lived a purposeful and fulfilled life”.

“She left good legacies behind one of which is Sunday Igboho himself,” said Peller, in a condolence message on his Facebook page.

Peller enjoined Igboho to remain strong, and also prayed that mama’s shortcomings be forgiven by God almighty and however grant here her eternal rest.

He prayed that God gives Igboho, his siblings and other family members the fortitude to bear her loss, particularly at this point in time.

Igboho has been in exile since 2021 that the Department of State Security (DSS) raided his residence in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State.

He was ,however, arrested in the neighbouring Cotonou, Benin Republic, while trying to travel to Germany.

Igboho got into the bad books of the government when he declared the Yoruba Nation’s sovereignty in March 2021.

He championed the cause of chasing the killer herdsmen and kidnappers away from the South-West states.

Meanwhile, the news medium was reliably informed that Mama’s remains, ought to have been buried in line with the Islamic dictates, still lying in the morgue.

The major question on the lips of many now is, would Sunday Igboho be allowed to give his late mother a proper burial?
