Engineer Muftau Open Salawu  an Ogbomoso born entrepreneur was at the weekend honoured with a traditional title, Waziri Jari Nupe (Daudu)  by The Etsu Nupe, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Yahaya Abubakar in Bida, Niger state.

The Honour according to the foremost traditional ruler is in recognition of the philanthropic gestures  and service to humanity of the Ogbomoso-born Civil Engineer

Etsu  who is the King for all Nupe speaking communities in Niger, Kwara, Kogi, Kaduna states and FCT described Salawu as a generous and kindhearted man who is passionate about helping the needy.

While praying  for his success in life and more blessings and protection from Almighty Allah, Dr, Yahaya urged him  not to  relent in his service to humanity

Salawu through his Oil foundation has been  given  lifeline  scholarship to student and provide educational materials to students  as well as tools and financial support for Artisans.

Speaking on the title, Engineer Salawu said ” I am humbled and honoured by the decision of Etsu Nupe and the entire kingdom to bestow on him such a prestigious traditional title, it means some people are watching you, it means assisting the needy and making people happy is good and it means some people are watching you”

“This is a call for more service to God and humanity  and  i want to challenge our brothers and sister that are blessed to use their God’s given wealth to promote God and assist the needy.” He concluded.
