A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ibadan South East, and former Chairman of the Local Government from 2007 to 2010, Hon. Abiodun Adedoja popularly known as Ekolo has attributed the successes seen within the first 100 days of several local governments to the support and encouragement they are receiving from Governor Seyi Makinde, whom he referred to as “a visionary and pace-setting leader.”
In a statement personally signed and released to the press in Oyo State this weekend, Hon. Abiodun Adedoja remarked that those who fail to recognize Governor Makinde’s exemplary leadership will greatly miss his impact when he leaves office.
Ekolo as he is called highlighted the competitive spirit among local government administrators, stating that their impressive achievements within the first 100 days in office are a reflection of the leadership guiding them to strive for excellence and outperform one another.
During his visits to several local governments, Ekolo observed their remarkable performance in a short time and affirmed the saying, “seeing is believing.” He expressed pride in the progress made by local government administrations in Oyo State and commended the local government chairmen for their outstanding leadership. He urged them to maintain their momentum and continue proving skeptics wrong.
Ekolo emphasized that, as the closest organ to the people, public administrators play a critical role in delivering essential services and managing local government organizations to improve the lives of the people, which is the essence of democracy.
He further noted that having a role model like Governor Makinde, whose leadership is a great asset to the state, is a fortunate advantage for the local government administrators.
Expressing optimism, Hon. Ekolo stated that with a new era of governance now underway in Oyo State, the pace of development should be accelerated with the support of all, regardless of political affiliation.
Signed,
Hon Abiodun Ekolo.
