Ekiti Election: Tribunal Affirms Fayemi’s Victory

Election Tribunal sitting in Abuja has unanimously struck out the case of the Peoples Democratic Party Governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Olusola Eleka and upheld Dr Kayode Fayemi of the APC as a duly elected governor of the state.

The APC candidate won with 197,459 votes as against Professor Kolapo Olusola of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)with 178,121 votes.

Kolapo Olusola, had on August 3 filed a petition at the governorship election tribunal against the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission, claiming that he was actual winner of the election.

The formal deputy governor said he polled the highest number of lawful votes in the election.
