A chieftain of Labour party in Ekiti state Akogun Bamji Ojo at the weekend said the party if voted into power in 2018 will change the fortunes of workers and make proper arrangement that will take the state to another level
Ojo who is also aspiring to be governor under LP while responding to questions from journalists at a forum in Ibadan said the Labour voted for PDP and APC yet they find it difficult to pay their salaries as and when due
“ In Netherlands where I worked, I receive my salary at 23rd of every month and that is exactly what i am going to replicate here if given the opportunity to serve, go and check the records of every country where labour party rules, workers enjoy and the effect is on productivity which translates to economic development”
While disclosing his plans to industrialize the state, the former European Cordinator of Oodua Peoples Congress OPU said “ I am already talking to some of my partners in Netherlands, Vietnam, Canada and others and we intend to start with cocoa and plantain plantations in the state and establish manufacturing industries that will used the materials in production of varieties”
Agriculture is the mainstay of our economy and with that over 10,000 youths will be gainfully employed, they will not only work, they will also learn and we will empower them to stand on their own”
He also listed ICT and vocational training as some of his major priority, “ we will create a knowledge based society , ICT will be included in the curriculum of both secondary and primary schools and vocational training will be available for the less priviledge, he concluded.
