The House of Representatives member representing Akoko North East/North West Federal Constituency and Chairman House Committee on NDDC, Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo has urged Muslim faithful to embrace peaceful coexistence.
Tunji-Ojo gave this advice in his goodwill message to Muslims in his constituency and Ondo State at large.
He urged them to continually reflect on the need for peaceful coexistent and to also preach the message of peace which Islamic religion advocates. The message reads: ” Peace is an essential condition for development, prosperity and enlargement. No meaningful human venture can be conducted in an atmosphere that is devoid of peace. I urge every Muslim faithful to use the occasion of Sallah celebration to work towards peaceful coexistence with neighbors and fellow country mean and women”.
He also decried the current spate of violent crimes and lack of respect for the sanctity of human lives in the country. Tunji-Ojo equally charged all Ummah to take advantage of the Eid El kabir to call on Allah for Nigeria so that peace can return to the country. Tunji-Ojo also urged Islamic clerics and leaders to eschew hate teachings and continually preach the message of peace, contentment and fear of Allah. “Lack of contentment and fear of God are few of the reasons responsible for the elusive peaceful coexistence in Nigeria. But we can still retrace our steps as individuals so as to make life better, meaningful abundant for all and sundry”.
Tunji-Ojo has therefore advised Muslims to celebrate with moderation and imbibe the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) on love, peace and tolerance.
