Easter: Oyo NSCDC Deploys 2500 Personnel  for Special Duties

“Let’s continue to pray, love our neighbours and have the fear of God in our heart and above all embrace peace in all ramifications as a way to uphold the unity of the Country”. This was the statement of Oyo State Commandant of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) CC Iskilu Akinsanya during the weekly briefing on Security assessment and preparation towards Easter celebration that was held at the Command State Headquarters old Nitel Building, Agodi, Ibadan.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya in a statement signed by Supt Oluwole Olusegun CDPRO stated that he has deployed two thousand five hundred(2500) officers of the Corps to all the 33 Local Government and 35 LCDA’s of the State on the order of Commandant General Dr. Ahmed Abubakar Audi mni to ensure water tight Security during and after the Easter celebration. Oyo State Commandant of NSCDC CC Iskilu Akinsanya also used the medium to called on all Area Commander’s, Divisional officers and personnel of the Corps to beef up Security in their vicinity before, during and after the festive period as Christians will be celebrating this year Easter.

Meanwhile, the Commandant has directed the Disaster Management unit to always have the Command ambulance and personnel on highways for rescue during the celebration, the Agro Rangers squad and the Counter Terrorism Unit have been deployed to all the nooks and crannies of the State to prevent crime and criminality during Easter celebration.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya urged Nigerians irrespective of their religion to be law abiding. He also enjoined Christian faithful to reflect on the lesson of Passion, Suffering, Forgiveness and love of Christ learnt during the lent and also pray for peace in our Nation and success of the present Government.

The State Commandant also enjoined the general public to volunteer information to Nigeria Security and Civil Defence near to them or call the Control room number on 09070473188, 09055533303 and 08077513995 or the sister’s agencies whenever they suspected any strange movement around them.

Commandant Iskilu Akinsanya wishes all Christians happy Easter celebration.
