Oyo State Deputy Governor, Engr Rauf Olaniyan has cheered the Christians in the pacesetter state, Nigeria and around the world on the occasion of the 2021 Easter festivity.
The Deputy Governor also called on Christians to, in the spirit of the season, persist to show forgiveness to one another and ensure unity in diversity.
Olaniyan, who stated this in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists on Sunday, shown appreciation to God for sparing and protecting the lives of people of the state, especially the Christian adherents, to witness and celebrate the Easter season.
DG enjoined all and sundry in the state to continue to support their government ably led by Engr Seyi Makinde.
He thanked God in His infinite mercy for sparing and protecting the lives of all until this moment, encouraging the people, residents, and indigenes of pacesetter state to remain steadfast, patient and hopeful.
He called on Christians in the state and beyond not to take lightly the price Christ paid for their salvation and to continue to remain connected to Jesus Christ who died for the living and sustenance of all.
Olaniyan reiterated that Jesus Christ had paid the price for all and it becomes important and necessary that the Christians learn from His death and resurrection.
DG called on all people in the state to keep on supporting their government and should, in the spirit of the season, be their brother’s keeper. This is the period also to get connected to our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ by practice, who died so that we may be saved.” Olaniyan ended
