The Chairman of the Oyo State Hospital Management Board, Dr. Akin Fagbemi has lauded the recent improvements at the State Hospital Ring Road.
Fagbemi gave the commendation during a recent working visit to the facility, while praising the ongoing improvements in the facilities and services at the hospital under the current administration and highlighted opportunities for digitalisation and collaboration that could further improve healthcare in the state.
Accompanied by the Permanent Secretary and other top management members, the chairman thoroughly evaluated the hospital’s infrastructure and operations, identifying areas for quick fixes.
Leveraging his experience, Dr. Fagbemi recognised the need for digitalisation and automation of medical records to improve clinical and inter-departmental communication.
Fagbemi commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his unwavering dedication to the betterment of the state’s healthcare system.
He said under his leadership, significant investments have been made in improving the facilities and services at Ring Road Hospital and other hospitals in the state, resulting in a marked transformation in its fortunes.
The chairman also praised the Commissioner for Health, Dr Oluwaserimi Ajetunmobi, for her efforts in championing healthcare reform and facilitating these improvements.
The chairman also acknowledged the ongoing free eye treatment and surgeries provided by Al Bassor Eye Foundation, which will benefit thousands of patients.
The visit revealed several notable improvements made by the current administration in the state, including comprehensive diagnostic facilities, a modern Diabetes and Dialysis centre, and well-tarred roads within the hospital.
A pilot project for digitization of medical records was also ongoing, which the Chairman viewed as a significant opportunity for improved communication among departments.
The chairman noted the areas where government intervention is necessary, such as improving laboratory services and addressing the Mortuary situation.
