Girls have been urged not to allow their gender to undermine their potentials but be more focused and optimistic about their future
Olanike Mustapha, chief Executive officer of Pams Travels & Tours Limited gave this urge while addressing female students of Wesley College of Science, Elekuro Ibadan
Mustapha, a female right advocate whose organization Pams Social Support is organizing a talk show to commemorate this year girl’s child day said it is important for parents, caregivers and elderly people in the public to always consider the plight of the girl’s child and help them to live better lives.
This year Theme: “Digital Generation, Our Generation because of the effect of Covid-19 Pandemic” is apt considering the fact that Girls feel that Tech and Digital World are majorly for Boys, some of them do not Train themselves on these Digital Tools. In order to bridge this gap, the United Nations want the Girl Child to be educated, Trained and have adequate Information about the Digital World, its importance, benefits, disadvantages and Applications.
She added that ” The Government, Parents and the Society at large have a Great Role to play here. Some Parents do not devote Time to Teaching their Children on how to use the Digital Space, they only told them that it is bad and they can not use phones. I rather think we can Teach them that the Digital Space is filled with all sorts, the User is the sole determinant of how it is being used. GIGO-Garbage In, Garbage Out. It brings out what we ask from it. The Digital can be used to Communicate, Transact, Handle Information and Content and Solving Problems. It is a whole lot of Opportunities and it has brought Changes that have improved our Quality of lives, though, there are Problems that come with it as well.
A Girl Child can develop Applications to solve a lot of Problems. When Girls come together to achieve a common Goal, they always have Remarkable Success
She however charged the girls to first have a changed Mindset about their Gender and believe in themselves, then become Valuable through Skill acquisition and pursuing Excellence in all they do.
“In the near Future, I see more Girls doing greatly in the Digital Space.
We wish our Bold, Brilliant, Beautiful and Intelligent Girls, Happy International Day of the Girl Child.

This was the reason I made Pams Travels & Tours Limited Corporate Social Responsibility tagged Pams Social Support to yearly celebrate the International day of the Girl Child, which is being celebrated on the 11th of October.
