Former governors of Ogun, Osun, and Ondo States — Senator Gbenga Daniel, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, and Dr. Olusegun Mimiko — on Monday visited the Olubadan-designate, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his Bodija residence in Ibadan, Oyo State, to pay homage and offer goodwill messages.
The trio described Oba Ladoja as a towering figure in both politics and business, noting that his wealth of experience as a former governor of Oyo State and a one-time senator would strengthen the traditional institution in Oyo State and beyond.
Senator Daniel expressed optimism that Ladoja’s reign would bring value to the comity of Obas in Nigeria.
> “Oba Ladoja is expected to provide the desired leadership because of his maturity and experience. The entire nation is looking up to him to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new assignment as a traditional ruler,” Daniel said.
Dr. Mimiko, in his remarks, praised Ladoja’s leadership style and principles, describing him as a man of integrity.
> “We admire his way of life as well as his principles. His wealth of experience and maturity will be brought to bear in his new role,” he said.
Aregbesola, however, stressed that his visit was not politically motivated.
> “I am not here for any political reasons but to pay homage to Oba Ladoja and to wish him a successful reign as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland,” he declared.
