Dangote Petroleum Refinery has officially announced a reduction in the ex-depot (gantry) price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, by N65.00, from N890 to N825 per litre, effective from 27th February 2025. This price adjustment is part of the company’s ongoing efforts to provide much-needed relief to Nigerians, particularly in anticipation of the upcoming Ramadan season.
The strategic price reduction also aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery policies, aimed at alleviating the financial burden on Nigerians.
This marks the second reduction in PMS prices within February 2025, following an earlier drop of N60.00 earlier in the month. In December 2024, Dangote Petroleum Refinery had reduced the price of PMS by N70.50, from N970 to N899.50 per litre, as part of efforts to ease the cost of living during the festive season.
This latest reduction is expected to positively impact the cost of living across various sectors of the economy, providing essential relief to Nigerians during a time of financial strain. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has assured the public of consistent supply and sufficient reserves of petroleum products to meet domestic demand and facilitate exports, which will also contribute to Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.
As a result of this adjustment, consumers will be able to purchase high-quality Dangote petrol at varying prices across different retail outlets MRS Holdings stations will offer petrol at N860 per litre in Lagos, N870 in the South-West, N880 in the North, and N890 in the South-South and South-East.
AP (Ardova Petroleum) and Heyden stations will sell at N865 per litre in Lagos, N875 in the South-West, N885 in the North, and N895 in the South-South and South-East.
Dangote Petroleum Refinery continues to call on marketers to support this initiative, ensuring that Nigerians remain the primary beneficiaries of this effort. This collective action is in line with President Tinubu’s broader economic recovery plan, which includes making Nigeria self-sufficient in refined petroleum products and positioning the country as a leading oil export hub.
