CSCHEI Becomes Coordinating Platform for CSOs in Nigeria

Civil Society Organization on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment (CSCHEI), has been endorsed as an umbrella establishment body saddled with the responsibility to be coordinating, mobilizing and promoting registered and accredited NGOs , Community Based Organization and Faith Based Organization within the scope of community, social and Humanitarian development in Nigeria.

It will interest you to know that over 45,000 various registered NGOs domiciled with Corporate Affairs Commission in Nigeria in which over 17,000 out of 45k fall within the scope and mandate of CSCHEI. Interestingly, CSCHEI at the moment has access to over 7000 various institutional members.

CSCHEI has established a robust working administrative relationship with most of United Nations Development Agencies, the ‘Renewed Hope’ agenda of President Bola Tinubu which aligns with Global Agenda 2030 endears CSCHEI to propel partnership with most of the government agencies in promoting Sustainable Development Agenda (SDGs).

Interestingly, the recommendations of 78th UNGA 2023 held in New York clearly stated a need for solidarity and COP28 in Dubai also emphasized a need for climate change funding and partnership with civil society organization which necessitated the launching of Project 2024 by CSCHEI which includes, SDGs secondary Club, no teachers no development, construction of 10,000 public toilets and 10,000 solar powered motorized boreholes across 774 LGs and training and deployment of 40,000 Nigerian Youths on POS attendant across the 774 LGs in Nigeria.

Delivering his opening remarks at the event, the Chairman of the occasion and former Speaker, House of Representatives, Rt Hon Dimeji Bankole, commended the Director-General of CSCHEI, Hon Kunle Yusuff MON and other younger people for putting this initiative together. Hon Bankole noted that welfare and security are the major reasons why people came together to have an establishment called government at all levels. He added that CSCHEI has decided to devise a strategy driven by logic, science and data.

Senator Lawal Adamu who was the Chief Host and Senate Committee Chairman on Basic Education said, “Basic Education is the key foundation for education. If you don’t get the foundation right, you will make mistakes.

” So, we are going to do everything possible to make sure our young Nigerians acquire the very best education that will make them worthy of attending any university in the world.

“My committee will give every contribution to this all-important group.”

The keynote speaker, the Director-General, National Institute for Strategic Studies, (NIPSS ), lauded Hon Kunle Yusuff MON saying he has done marvelously well noting his insistence and doggedness ensured that someone must represent the institute from Jos.

The representative of the DG spoke extensively on the role of Civil Society Organizations in policy analysis, advocacy and good governance and for the citizens to live a better life.

In her goodwill message, the Minister of Women Affairs, said, “I and my Ministry identify with the ideals of this organisation on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment Initiative.

” We commend the organizers for putting together this initiative.

“I urge everyone present here to proffer tangible solutions that will avert the challenges of women in Nigeria.

” Due to the issue of Gender-Based Violence in Nigeria, I am calling on all of you to take the battle to enemy’s camp. If you see something, say something.”

In his remarks, the Ambassador of Belgium to Nigeria, Pieter Leenknegt, expressed satisfaction at the programme, noting that the development of education is undoubtedly taking place.

While adding that with the adoption of SDGs logos, the global language is being replicated at the local level as well.

He commended CSCHEI for playing dual roles of bringing all the CSOs, CBOs together as an umbrella body forming alliance to achieve a common aim.

Special Adviser to the United Institute on Training, Ambassador Larryboms, Ph.D assured CSCHEI of funding for any SDGs projects and programmes.

Other dignitaries who spoke at the event include, Senior Special Assistant to the President on food security, Special Adviser to the Senate President on NGOs, CSOs and Diaspora, Senior Special Assistant on SDGs, DG NGGWA, DG Legislative Institute, Executive Secretary African Business Round Table, Technical Partners and former Special Adviser to the President on Social Development, Sarah Akubeen Pane among others.

The Communique issued by CSCHEI approved by the Director-General, Civil Society Organizations on Community Advancement and Humanitarian Empowerment (CSCHEI), Hon Kunle Yusuff reads:

Inauguration, induction and training of 36 State directors of program and the FCT.
CSCHEI has access to almost 17,000 registered CBOs, NGOs, FBOs, and also approved the state directors should also establish a roust relation with all the community development council in the various local Governments across Nigeria.
The board, management, institutional members of CSCHEI, civil society organizations on Community advancement and humanitarian empowerment initiative in Nigeria launched the following projects for 2024.

Establishing SDG clubs in secondary schools across the 774 local government areas in Nigeria

CSCHEI will partner with Development agencies, philanthropists and agents of development to raise funds for the construction of 10,000 public toilets across the 774 local governments in Nigeria.

To build 10,000 motorized boreholes powered by solar.

No Teachers no Development’ is an initiative created by CSCHEI to raise more science students for the future.

CSCHEI is to train, develop and empower 40,000 POS youth operators to curb the rising tide of unemployment across the 774 LGAs in Nigeria.

CSCHEI as a link between the Government and the masses has developed a concept on accountability and transparency for Government officials to be responsible and responsive appropriately.
CSCHEI in partnership with co-development partners will work with all other registered NGOs, CBOs, FBOs to advocate for climate action and identify access to climate change funding
CSCHEI has conceptualized an ideology to domesticate and integrate SDGs into our basic and secondary school education in alignment with the global agenda 2030.
CSCHEI in partnership with Nigeria Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies in conjunction with the Senate Committee on basic and secondary education shall be offering strategic trainings for education administrators in Nigeria.
CSCHEI will work with Federal inland Revenue services on tax reform advocacy for total acceptability
A communique was adopted that CSCHEI should work in partnership with Defence headquarters, Nigerian Navy, Nigeran Airforce, Nigerian Customs Service, Nigerian Police force and other related security agencies to advocate against extremism and radicalization, cybercrime, for peace to reign in our land.
CSCHEI shall partner with relevant development partners to support Government policy on food security.
Henceforth CSCHEI shall be playing an advisory role to the Government on National needs assessment for enhancement of policy implementation.
