COVID-19: Folarin Begins Second Batch Of Palliative, Distribute N25m Food Items, N5m Cash

The lawmaker representing Oyo central senatorial District, Senator Teslim Folarin, on Monday announced his plans to distribute N5million cash and N25million worth of food items to his constituents so as to cushion the effects of the lockdown occasioned by the ongoing fight against the spread of coronavirus.

Folarin, in a statement made available to newsmen in Ibadan, stated that he has raised a two-man committee to handle distribution of the palliatives, which included food items to the people of his Senatorial District.

According to the Ibadan senior chief, the palliative committee members, Mr Biliaminu Ogundele from Egbeda local government and Akeem Olatunji are to handle the distribution of the food items worth million N25 million naira to the people across the 117 wards in his senatorial district.

He added in the statement that special arrangements are in place for the 5 local government areas from Ibadanland in the senatorial district, being the epicentre of the pandemic in the state.

The three-term lawmaker stressed that his gesture was part of his efforts towards alleviating the sufferings of the people in his senatorial district and the state at large in this trying period.

He also stated that a separate arrangement has been made to giveaway cash via a phone-in session at Fresh FM on Tuesday 7th April like Let’s Talk About It at 5pm to 7pm to be co-anchored by Yinka Ayefele and Enitan Bamidele; Gbarada to be co-anchored by Komolafe Olaiya and Olalomi Amole on Wednesday 10am to 12noon, and Eku iyanju by Enitan Bamidele on Thursday between 5pm to 7pm.
