Dance Rasak, as he is popularly called, the Ekiti State Honourable Commissioner for Arts, Culture and Tourism, Professor Rasaki Ojo Bakare calls for more compliance/Adherence to the Government directives on the safety measures to curtail the possible infection and/or spread of the deadly disease caused by Corona Virus called Covid – 19 as he gives food items including Rice, Vegetable oil and Indomie Noddles to his Constituents as a palliative to cushion the effects of the stay-at-home order of the Government to the populace.
The brief event which took place at the Aramoko Civic Center on Saturday 4th April 2020 was attended by the Chairman, Ekiti West Local Government; Hon. Kareem Agunbiade; President of Aramoko Development Association, (ADA) Dr. Isaac O. Aladeloye, the Representatives of the Monarch and Head of the Principal Quarters in the town namely; High Chief Oladiran Adebayo, The Asao of Aramoko Ekiti, High Chief Afolabi Adetifa, The Ogboni of Aramoko Ekiti, Chief Akanni Bello, Balekale of Aramoko Ekiti.
The Leaders of the three Political Wards represented the major Political Parties; The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP). They are Messrs George Adegbesan, Kehinde Ogundare and Ganiyu Ogunlola for APC Wards 01, 02 and 03 respectively and Messrs Dauda Shittu, Moses Akinwande and Akeem Okunola for PDP Wards 01, 02 and 03 respectively.
Bakare, in his short address, appreciated all in attendance for their time and leadership roles in the Community. He told them that the items he brought should be shared to the less privileged in the Community irrespective of their Political Parties affiliation.
The Council Boss, Hon. Agunbiade appreciated The Executive Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. John Kayode Fayemi, CON for appointing a kind-hearted man like Professor Bakare as a Commissioner. He was full of praises to the Hon. Commissioner for having a large heart, spending so much for his people even within just three months in office as a Commissioner. He expressed a high level of regards for Bakare’s unique style, as he’s the first politician to give those kinds of gifts to the people of the town in such an instance, irrespective of their Political Affiliations.
All the Chiefs took their turns to eulogize the true son of the soil for his very fantastic kind gesture, which is the first of its type in the Community. They mentioned how he has always been supportive to, not only people in Ekiti West LG, Ekiti State, but to mankind as a whole. They said he has been doing these for close to about three decades now, ever since and through his tenures holding various leadership posts in the Ivory Tower and now as a member of the Ekiti State Executive.
The Political Ward Heads of the Political Parties were not left out, they, while appreciating the Hon. Commissioner on behalf of the party members in their wards, expressed happiness that they were witnessing/experiencing such kindness for the first time. They all prayed that God will continue to uphold and strengthen the Commissioner in all his endeavours.
Dr. Dipo Aladeloye, President of Aramoko Development Association (ADA), thanked the donor, Professor Bakare, for extending/expressing the spirit of ARAHFEST once again, uniting all and sundry irrespective of age, sex, religion or partisan politics. He fervently prayed that God will replenish his pocket.
Mr. Taiwo Sulyman, who anchored the Program, is the Personal Assistant on Political Matters to the Honourable Commissioner. He appreciated the Commissioner for the gift, the ADA President, the High Chiefs and all the representatives of the Political Parties for coming. He prayed that God will grant all journey mercies back to their various destinations.
