Coalition Commends Nigerian Army on Induction of New Helicopters

The Coalition of Civil Society Group Against Terrorism in Nigeria has congratulated the leadership of the Nigerian Army, especially the COAS, Lt General Taoreed Lagbaja and the Nigerian Army Aviation Corps on the rare feat of the Induction of the Nigerian Army New Helicopters

The Nigerian Army on 20th day of June, 2024 inducted new helicopters into the Nigerian Army Aviation Corps.

Com Oladimeji Odeyemi and Barrister John Atani who signed the Coalition’s congratulatory message to the Chief of Army staff said this is a significant milestone in enhancing the Nigerian Army defence capabilities and capacities.The water canon salute was a fitting tribute to this great achievements.

“Sir, this is to also salute the resilience of the pilots and personnel of the Nigerian Army Aviation Corps who have waited patiently for this moment.”

The Coalition also thank a former Chief of Army Staff, Ambassador (Lt General rtd) Tukur Buratai CFR, whom the coalition recalled his vision, passion and dedication to the realisation of the Nigerian Army Aviation Corps. Especially when the Nigerian Army under his leadership commissioned the first set of Nigerian Army Pilots trained by the Nigerian Army Aviation School during the 2017 Chief of Army Staff (COAS) annual conference held in Ibadan, Oyo State. ”

“The commissioning of the Pilots by President Muhammadu Buhari, who was ably represented by the then Chief of Defense Staff (CDS), General Abayomi Olonisakin, was one of the series of focal events at the 2017 COAS Annual Conference in Ibadan. ”

The Coalition also thanked General Taoreed Lagbaja for sustaining the vision of his predecessors for the Nigerian Army to transform and enhance it’s operations and efficiency of its personnel tailored towards using the Nigerian Army resources and platforms.
