The Oyo State Commissioner for Enviroment and water resources Chief Isaac Ishola has urged citizens of the State
to continue their support for the present administration efforts in improving the health of the public trough the maintenance of good hygiene and sanitation.
He said the Ministry has a lot of sanctions according to the regulations, that can be meted – out to any recalcitrant individual when it comes to keeping and observing the environmental sanitation exercise.
The state Commissioner for environment and water resources Chief Isaac Ishola made this known during the weekly environmental sanitation exercise in Ibadan Oyo State capital.
Commissioner who was represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry Pastor Gabriel Oguntola noted that presently the Ministry has two environmental mobile court saying that anybody that is caught violating environmental law in Oyo State will be arranged and sanction according to the provision of the regulation and the environmental law of the State.
He hinted that the Ministry have the power to seal up any premises or shops that is dirty which can lead to the unexpected disease in the State will be sealed and it will not to be open until offenders are comply with the provision of the regulations.
Oguntola said “we are appealing to the good people of Oyo State to continue to support the present administration in its efforts to improve the health of the public trough the maintenance of good hygiene and sanitation.
“The essence of the sanitation is to clean our environment, every trader must clean their market, every company must clean their soundings the same thing with the individual houses”.
He added that people must imbibe the culture of cleanliness and change their attitude positively about environmental sanitation.
Area visited were Total- Garden, Gate, Iwo-road, and Mokola.
