The Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV) has felicitated with Nigerian children on the occasion of the 2025 Children’s Day celebration, urging them to steer clear of crime and embrace positive values that will shape a brighter future.
In a message marking the event, POCACOV advised children to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams with determination, warning against involvement in cultism, drug abuse, and other destructive behaviors.
The initiative, launched by the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, promotes preventive policing and community engagement. According to the National Coordinator, ACP Olabisi Okuwobi, POCACOV seeks to address social issues such as gangsterism, cultism, extremism, and organized crime.
ACP Okuwobi emphasized that POCACOV’s mission includes fostering patriotism, unity, and societal development, especially by guiding the youth away from crime.
She called on children to move forward with courage and curiosity, stressing that “today’s little steps will become tomorrow’s giant strides.”
POCACOV also appealed to parents to create safe and nurturing environments that support their children’s moral and academic growth, essential for their long-term success.
