Today, we are celebrating a man whose life and career epitomize service, mentorship, and cultural pride—Hon. Akeem Ademola Ige. On his birthday, we celebrate not only the passing of time but a legacy marked by unwavering commitment, transformative leadership, and a passion for nurturing future generations.

From his early days as the young Chairman of Ibadan South East (Mapo), Hon. Ige quickly distinguished himself by recording outstanding achievements that set a high standard for local governance. His dynamic leadership in Mapo was just the beginning of a career that would see him take on roles that have significantly shaped public service and policy in our region.

As the former Minority Leader in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ige demonstrated the power of conviction and the importance of representing the underrepresented. His tenure in the Assembly was characterized by thoughtful debates, strategic decision-making, and a relentless drive to improve the lives of his constituents. His voice was one that resonated with integrity and a clear vision for a better society.

His journey continued as he took on key advisory roles, first as the Special Adviser on Youth and Sport to Governor Alao Akala and later as the Special Adviser to Governor Seyi Makinde on Tourism Development. In these capacities, Hon. Ige harnessed his deep understanding of community needs, pushing for initiatives that not only elevated public policies but also empowered the youth and showcased the rich cultural heritage of our land.
