The Centre for Ethics and self value orientation on Monday decorated Chairman House of Representatives Committee on Information, Ethics and as an ambassador of ethics and global citizen of conscience.
The group founded as an agent of values and ethical reorientation to arrest the declining ethical conduct in private and public sectors says the Ogo/Oluwa Surulere Federal Reps Segun Odebunni stands tall not only as a ranking member of the house but as someone whose interventions transcend his constituency.
Hence is qualified to receive the Honour as ambassador of ethics.
Executive Director of the organization, Prince Salih Musa Yakub says in their over eleven years independent assessment, Hon Odebunni passed the organization’s integrity test.
Prince Yakubu emphasised that the Issuance of ethical leadership/conduct compliance certificate in his name and certificate of conduct and character for leaders shows that his conduct in public office tallies with ethical standard.
The group, apart from honouring the ranking member of the green chamber, a certificate of credence as an evidence that Hon Odebunni maintained a well functioning constituency office that serves members of the rural communities was also presented.
The new ambassador of ethics and global citizen of conscience, in his response says even though there are challenges in the country, but men of values must stand up for what is right, he regretted the way and manner the rich values and culture of the people are getting eroded, on the alter of material things, stressing that everyone in their chosen career must strive to do what is right.
The group promised to train 100 teachers across his Surulere/Ogo Oluwa constituency in appreciation of his giant stride in leadership.
