Buhari/Osinbajo 2019 : YYF Not Part of Afenifere’s Endorsement – Bolarinwa

The National President of Yoruba Youth Forum, YYF Comrade Bolaji Bolarinwa on Yorubaland on Tuesday absloved the socio-cultural organization from endorsing the President Muhammadu Buhari and His Vice Professsor Yemi Osinbajo for another four years in office.

Afenifere, a pan Yoruba group had today at Pan Yoruba Summit in Ibadan said Yorubas should for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress APC in the coming election .

The motion to support APC was moved by Senator Biyo Durojaiye and supported by representatives from the states in the south west .

At the events were Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Deputy governors and members of House of Assembly from Oyo, Ogun, Osun, Ondo and Ekiti state.

Others included, APC gubernatorial candidate in Lagos state. Babjide Sanwolu, Representatives of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, Kemi Nelson, APC women leader South West former Deputy governor of Osun state, Titi Laoye Tomori and others .

Speaking on why they Pan Yoruba group ensdorses Buhari/ Osinbajo, Durojaiye said the decision is due to the progressives political ideological of the APC which is in line with the developmental agenda laid by late Chief Obafemo Awolowo.

Chief Ayo Fasanmi in his opening remarks saif Buhari has performed creditably well and Nigeria should not move back by voting PDP.

Bolarinwa who described the moves by Afenifere to support Buhari/Osinbajo ambition as a wrong decision said those behind it are members of APC who don’t considered the interest of Yoruba race.

He said rather than supporting the president for another term he would preferred Peoples Democratic Party PDP Presidential Candidate Alhaji Atiku Abubakar because he is intellectually sound and more fit than Buhari.

Bolarinwa said” The decision of Afenifere would have been acceptable to all Yoruba if all the leaders including Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Olu Falae and others prominent Yoruba people attended and supports the move .

” We said we want change and this is the time for us to change our nation for better, everybody should be conscious of the need to move Nigeria forward by voting a sincere and passionate people that will take us to a greater height.

While urging the youth to remain calm and maintain peace during election Prince Abolarinwa said “You have every faundamental right to vote for whoever you want to vote for, don’t allow anybody to intimidate you or hoodwink you with lies
