Bodija Market : Suspend the Relocation , Seyi Makinde Advises Government

The PDP gubernatorial aspirant in oyo state Engnr Seyi Makinde has advised government to suspend the relocation of the Bodija market to Amosun village until further talks are held with the leaders.

In a statement issued by the Seyi Makinde organisation and signed by Prince Dotun Oyelade, Makinde said that no development policy is worth the blood of the suffering masses which the traders represent.

He said it is sad that people have to be killed in the course of pursuing their legitimate businesses and exercising their rights of dissent .

 

At a time when the nation is bedevilled by the on -going massacre of innocent citizens in the north, the state government must halt any armed responses to the. traders protests and stop putting government business above the sanctity of lives.

 

He admonished further that the government should embrace dialogue with market leaders while Market men and women should desist from any act that portrays them as lawless and ensure normalcy return to the Market.
