A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Oyo State, Bashorun Akinwale Solomon Akinwole, has felicitated with Muslims as they begin the holy month of Ramadan, while also extending his best wishes to Christians observing Lent. He emphasized the importance of unity, peace, and spiritual growth during these sacred periods.
Acknowledging the significance of Ramadan, he urged Muslims to embrace the virtues of patience, compassion, and charity. He prayed that their acts of devotion bring them closer to Allah and usher in peace and prosperity for Oyo State and Nigeria. Similarly, he encouraged Christians to remain steadfast in their faith during Lent, using the period for reflection, prayer, and renewal.
Bashorun Akinwole highlighted the similarities between both religious observances, noting that they promote discipline, sacrifice, and selflessness. He called on both Muslims and Christians to use the season to pray for the progress and stability of the nation.
He further stressed the importance of peaceful coexistence, urging residents of Oyo State to foster mutual respect and understanding regardless of religious differences. According to him, unity in diversity remains one of Nigeria’s greatest strengths.
Reaffirming his commitment to a peaceful and prosperous society, he encouraged Nigerians to stand together in love and harmony. He concluded by wishing Muslims a blessed Ramadan and Christians a fruitful Lenten season.
