As part of effort to ensure the reelection of Governor Seyi in the gubernatorial election in 2023, the Executive Assistant to Governor Seyi Makinde on People Living with Disability, Barrister Ayodele Adekanmbi has launched a political mobilization for his principal, SEYI SPECIAL SUPPORT GROUP (SSSG).

Speaking at the launching of the ‘SEYI SPECIAL SUPPORT GROUP’ at Iseyin Town Hall on Sunday, Adekanmbi who has been named as “Ambassador for Special People” lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for identifying with people with disability in his government. His words:

“I want to specially thank my leader and principal, our amiable masses governor who has done what no administration has done for people living with disability in the state.

” He appointed us into his government, he gave our members employment opportunities in the civil service, employed 150 of our members into the teaching job, he gave our members palliatives during the lockdown period. He has done numerous empowerment programmes for our members.

 Some of our members were appointed as supervisory councilors and Special Assistants in all the 33 local government areas of Oyo state, he has upgraded all the Special Schools in the state with modern facilities.

It’s on this note that I decided to launch this political movement for the actualization of the second term bid of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde because one good turn deserves another. ”

It will be recalled that Ambassador Adekanmbi was the first special person to be appointed in the history of Oyo State in 2005 as Special Adviser and later Senior Special Assistant on Disability Matters before Governor Seyi Makinde appointed him as Executive Assistant.

Speaking furthers, Adekanmbi added that Ogbomoso/Oyo Zone will hold on 12th June, Ibadan/Ibarapa zone will hold on 10th July, While the date for a state mega support rally will be announced soonest.

He added that friends from others states and diaspora have indicated interest to attend the rally to appreciate Governor Seyi Makinde for his support for the special people.

The Iseyin event had attendance different political office holders and members of the special people from all the ten local government areas in Oke Ogun namely; Iseyin, Atisbo, Itesiwaju, Saki East, Saki West, Kajola, Oorelope, Olorunsogo, Iwajowa and Irepodun.

Various speakers at the event commended Governor for appointing their ambassador and leader, Barrister Adekanmbi into his cabinet. They accused the APC government of late Governor Abiola Ajimobi for treating them with disdain adding that his administration  made them cry profusely as if they were animals.
They however lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for wiping away their  tears and for identifying with them and made them feel like normal human being.
