Another feather was added to the heavily nested cap of Otunba Seye Famojuro, a close ally of the Oyo state governor, Engineer Oluseyi Makinde as he was honoured with a chieftaincy title – Balogun Bobajiroro of Orile Igbon.
Orile Igbon is an ancient town that has a strategic place in Yoruba history. Any honour from Olugbon who is a first class monarch in Yorubaland is a worthy honour that deserves to be celebrated.
The relationship between the newly installed Balogun Bobajiroro of Ile Igbon and Governor Makinde transcend beyond what Cambridge dictionary can define because he is not just an embodiment of loyalty and humility but a committed ally who is passionate about the success of Makinde’s administration as a governor and career as an engineer and businessman.
Otunba Famojuro is not the only ally in Seyi Makinde’s camp but his style of operation is rare. While others are grappling for government appointments, he remains a close confidant who plays a significant role and gains more recognition than those on the government payroll.
Balogun Bobajiroro is not only loyal but always demonstrates his genuinty to any course he believes in. No wonder, people prefer seeing him before going to meet the Governor. This is because gaining the Balogun’s confidence and trust on any matter is a sign that there is a green light and result of the later meeting with the governor would be fruitful. No wonder people refer to him as Mr Fix It.
Testimonies by beneficiaries of his large heart reveal how Balogun Famojuro transformed people’s lives. “He doesn’t need to know you before welcoming you and once you have a brilliant idea that can make meaningful impact and contribute to the success of Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration, he would always open his doors for you. But he detests people cutting corners and pretenders.” said a benefactor who doesn’t want his name in print.
American physician, philosopher and author, Debasish Mridhaw said ‘Let me be one of the people who writes their life history, not with ink but with the colors of a caring heart’. Balogun Seye is one of the few people who have made indelible marks in the life of many especially those who are privileged of winning his heart with their ability to add values.
Matshona Dhliwayo, a Canada-based Philosopher, Entrepreneur, and author wrote “You become strong by lifting others up, not pulling them down” The new title Balogun (a warlord) Bobajiroro (Counsellor/ Adviser) has placed Otunba Seye on another pedestal and elevated level of commitment to “Do more for humanity’ and I wish him the best in everything.
